JANE WOODMAN | vocals/guitar
Jane performed solo as ‘Van Gogh’s Daughter’ around San Francisco in the early nineties. Wanting her dark, ethereal sound to be deeper and louder, she brought in former bandmate Jeanne Hangauer, followed by meeting Paige Weber through Nancy Hess of the SF band Seven Day Diary. Nancy played bass in the beginning, but was replaced by Rachel Thoele when Seven Day Diary was getting signed and planning a tour. At that point, VGD became cohesive, well-known, and busy. They released an orange 7” vinyl of ‘Down’ / ‘Crystal’ on Psykodisc and was eventually signed by major label Hollywood Records, released ‘Shove’, and toured the country. ‘Through the Eyes of Julie’ video featured 'The Love Boat' crew, and was in regular rotation on MTV2.A solo artist since 2010, her releases from 2011-2018 received substantial airplay. She toured the US, and landed on many independent charts, top 20 end of year lists, and was one of SF Deli’s top 5 post-punk/noise artists. New singles will be released this year. Jane is a musician and multimedia designer living in Kansas City, MO.
